Small town living - Sequim is small town America - a quaint downtown with unique gift shops, art galleries, great farm to table restaurants, a Saturday morning farmers market and numerous annual festivals.
To find Sequim's real attractions you need to head out to the countryside, its all almost at your backdoor. Cast your line in the nearby Dungeness river, tour a lavender farm, bike the Discovery Trail, hike to the Dungeness Spit lighthouse, taste great local wine, take a hot air balloon ride, golf at the areas best courses, go berry picking, rent a kayak or stand up paddle boat . Take a short drive to Port Angeles and eat at great restaurants, go on a whale watch, enjoy fresh steamed crab, and hop a ferry to a whole other country - Victoria, British Columbia in Canada. Head to the Olympic national Park, venture into a moss covered rain forest, hike the unspoiled wilderness of Hurricane Ridge or explore remote rugged beaches.
Getting around is best done by car or bicycle. There is a local taxi service, a shuttle van that makes daily runs to SeaTac airport and bus service runs from Sequim west to Forks, closest bus stop is about 2.5 miles away.
